Dudley's Adventure--October Update

One month ago, my friend Dudley set off on an adventure. (See earlier post here.)

I have decided that I will write a monthly update to help you keep track of his travels and his reading!

Dudley's first stop was Dublin, Ohio.  He was hosted by Mr. Keefer and his fifth grade students at Scottish Corners Elementary School.

While there, Dudley read some great books including:
The Beginner's Guide to Running Away from Home by Jennifer LaRue Huget

Wolfie the Bunny by Ame Dyckman, illustrated by Zachariah OHora
And though it pained those of us back in Michigan, Dudley even sported an Ohio State shirt, while helping celebrate Global Read Aloud!
Chopsticks by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, illustrated by Scott Magoon
After a wonderful time in Ohio, Dudley was packed up and sent to his next destination...Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

He was warmly welcomed by Ms. Burnap's third grade class at Calvin Coolidge Elementary School.

More great reading opportunities...

...and another opportunity to celebrate Global Read Aloud.

The Year of Billy Miller by Kevin Henkes
Dudley had the opportunity for a weekend roadtrip to where else?  Dudley, Massachusetts!

From Massachusetts back to Michigan...Lansing, Michigan,  He visited Mrs. Moore and the library at Windmere Park Charter Academy...

...where he assisted with self-checkout...

...and waited patiently for students to arrive!

Waiting by Kevin Henkes
Always time to read a Caldecott winner!

The Adventures of Beekle by Dan Santat
His final (and current) stop in October is Mr. Dooher's eighth grade English class at Horizon Middle School in Moorhead, Minnesota.

Upon arrival, he took time to enjoy the view...

...make new friends...

Dudley's new friend, recommends Last Stop on Market Street by Matt De La Pena, illustrated by Christian Robinson.
...and, of course, read good books!  (He even helped participate in #classroombookaday!)

Creepy Carrots! by Aaron Reynolds, illustrated by Peter Brown
I wonder where he's headed next!?!?

Stay tuned!
